Tokyo Ops Restrictions for Emperor's Enthronement: The upcoming enthronement of the new Japanese Emperor is going to bring a number of restrictions at Tokyo airports.
Japanese authorities have informed local handlers that GA/BA will be completely prohibited from both Narita (RJAA) and Haneda (RJTT) airports from October 21, 0000JST (October 20, 1500UTC) to October 25, 0000JST (October 24, 1500UTC).
Over a hundred flights transporting official delegations are expected, however, parking at RJAA and RJTT combined can capacitate only about 50 aircraft, therefore many visiting aircraft will have to secure parking elsewhere.
Airspace restrictions will prohibit any aircraft within 25NM of the Imperial Palace without special approval from ATC.
It's expected all major international airports in Japan will experience congestion due to the event.
