Kumasi Airport is not an airport of entry or exit in Ghana. All flights must land at DGAA (Kotoka International, Accra) first and the same for exiting unless the flight has diplomatic clearance. All formalities are done at DGAA before going to DGSI.Catering companies are not available at DGSI. But ordering is possible from the surrounding hotels.ParkingDomestic and FBO flights generally patronize the airport. Most flights do not park at DGSI. But a private plane can decide to spend a day or two depending on their interest of stay. There is a VVIP lounge to be used whenever needed.Airport ActivityThe airport is open all seven days, from 0600 to 1800LT and is busy with the domestic flights landing and taking off.
Custom and Immigration are only available on request. No need for any formality once it is done at DGAA.The rules applicable to the crew when entering Ghana are the same for DGSI: Crew do not need a visa to enter Ghana for up to 72 hours if they are operating and are in uniform with valid ID card and a stamped Gen-Dec. They will have to get a visa if their stay exceeds 72 hours.
