Entering and exiting Russia

Russia has recently updated restrictions on who is and isn't welcome to enter and exit the country, and for what reasons. Here are the latest regulations as of November 23.Entering Russia Only the following passengers are allowed to enter Russia:

• Russian nationals and their families
• Permanent residents
• If arriving from their country of nationality - nationals of the UK, Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Japan, South Korea, Maldives, Serbia, Seychelles, Switzerland, Tanzania, Turkey, and UAE
• If arriving from their country of residency – residents of the UK, Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Japan, South Korea, Maldives, Serbia, Seychelles, Switzerland, Tanzania, Turkey, and UAE
• Nationals and residents of Belarus and Kyrgyzstan if arriving from those countries

E-visas remain suspended.All non-Russian nationals arriving in Russia must carry certified proof in Russian or English of a negative PCR test result issued no more than 72 hours before their arrival.Operators planning missions for international passengers to Russia should always confirm the passengers’ nationalities, passports, and the purpose of their visit.Russians departing Russia Operators and Russian passengers should be aware that they are only allowed to travel to certain countries without government approval.

Flying to non-permitted destinations requires additional approval and confirmation by the Russian Government.The process usually takes 3-5 working days and is subject to government assessment and approval.Russians are restricted from traveling with the following exceptions:

• Foreign passport or temporary residence permit holders
• Foreign spouse (or children)/family reunion
• Medical purposes and with a confirmation document
• High-quality specialists coming with work purposes confirmed by employment contract and employer
