ACI’s Top Airport Rankings for 2016: Airports Council International (ACI) has just announced the annual Airport Service Quality Awards for 2016. Airport Service Quality (ASQ) awards have grown significantly in prestige and competitiveness in recent years, so ACI has added a new category in 2016, “Best Airport by Size and Region.” The awards highlight airports in developed and underdeveloped countries that place high importance on providing the best possible passenger experience and service.The awards are based on the results of roughly 600,000 satisfaction surveys taken from the traveling public at 320 participating airports in 80 countries across the globe. The ASQ survey is widely recognized in the industry for its impartiality and strict quality controls.Participating airports must conduct surveys, in strict accordance with the guidelines and criteria, for 12 months consecutively. Passengers, from selected passenger groups, taking selected flights to selected destinations and regions are interviewed prior to boarding their flights.This is how the honors were assigned in 2016 in two of the four categories:
