In what was by far the most challenging ferry flight mission I’ve ever experienced in a career in which I’ve accumulated 11,000 flight hours in both fixed and rotary wings, I can safely say that without UAS’ precious and continuous support, I truly doubt we could have been successful. To the next 75 years of NBAA2021 was a year of excellent growth in our industry, and the WingX figures from January 2022 confirm activity and demand continue to rise – great news of course, but not without it’s challenges too. In a recent BNAA ‘News Hour’ webinar that marked the anniversary of the National Business Aviation Association, some of the US’ top experts discussed the BA outlook for 2022. They cited a rapidly growing demand for personnel as a key issue, along with huge MRO backlogs of up to six and eight months, and a decline in maintenance technician pools. It seems that some investment is needed to properly facilitate this continued growth.

Flight Operations to the 2022 Masters at AugustaThe 2022 Masters Golf Tournament gets underway at Augusta National from April 7-10. In the run-up to the event, NBAA Air Traffic Services anticipates a significant increase in air traffic operations in and out of the four airports in the Augusta area that are commonly used during the week of Masters.

European Countries Ease COVID Entry RequirementsA number of European countries have ended all entry restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with others relaxing rules significantly. Ireland Ireland has called a halt to all restrictions for all arriving international travelers; proof of vaccination, recovery, or a negative PCR test result are no longer required. A completed Passenger Locator Form for each visitor has also been scrapped.
